The Honorable Tim McKone
Executive Vice President
1120 20th St., NW, Suite 800
Washington, DC. 20036

Dear Mr. McKone:

Over the past few days, I have been in contact with you, and Communication Workers of America (CWA), regarding the COVID-19 “outbreak” at the Edinger AT&T facility, in Tustin, CA. This pandemic is not going away. On the contrary, we are seeing a national resurgence of this infection. My district is one of those areas that is showing an alarmingly high rate of infections.

I again ask that you redouble your efforts to ensure worker safety. I ask that coordination and consultation, with your employees and their CWA representatives, be the cornerstone of scientifically based safety protocols that you develop and implement.

In the 46th Congressional District, our largest employer, Disneyland, has been working with a number of labor representatives, and their employees, to develop safety guidelines and protocols to reopen the Disney Amusement Park in a safe and responsible manner. I ask that you look to the “Disney” model for lessons in developing safety protocols.

AT&T and your employees are “essential workers,” that are critical to keeping our nation open. Your employees need a safe and responsible work setting. I am prepared to assist you and our mutual constituents in addressing the challenges that COVID-19 presents to us all.

I will continue to be in touch with you and your employees.

Sincerely,

J. LUIS CORREA
Member of Congress
