Washington, D.C.—Congressman Lou Correa announces plan to reclassify Orange County’s John Wayne Airport as a “Port of Entry.” The change would remove a user-fee attached to all international flights which is used to pay for Customs and Border Patrol services at the airport. This change could potentially lead to decreases in ticket prices and additional routes.
Congressman Correa said, “Right now John Wayne Airport and the people who use it are paying a fee other similar airports don’t. This isn’t fair to Orange County travelers. By making JWA a port of entry, we’re leveling the playing field and giving Orange County the airport they deserve.”
