Rep. Correa Supports Amendment To Fund Cybersecurity Scholarships
Washington, D.C.—Today, Congressman Correa cosponsored and spoke in support of an amendment that will provide $10 million in scholarships to community colleges and universities through the Department of Defense Cyber Scholarship Program. This comes after Rep. Correa introduced several pieces of legislation to support cybersecurity efforts in the United States, including a resolution in support of cybersecurity education.
Rep. Correa stated,
“Our country faces a critical shortage of cybersecurity professionals. These scholarships will allow us to train new cybersecurity experts, helping keep our nation safe and provide good paying job to our children. We need to incentivize our students to pursue careers in cyber security and these scholarships will do that.”
