REP. CORREA STATEMENT ON TERMINATION OF DAPA & PRESERVATION OF DACA

Washington, D.C.—Late on June 15, Deferred Action for Parents of Americans and Lawful Permanent Residents (“DAPA”) was officially rescinded. Congressman Correa had this to say:

On DAPA:

It’s quite symbolic that the Administration has chosen to make this policy change announcement on the 5th Anniversary of DACA.

The President said that he would only go after criminals. Now he has made it clear that he going after honest, hard working taxpaying moms and dads.

This policy will split more families apart and create further economic uncertainty for children. This is very sad day.

On DACA:

After months of fear and anxiety, DACA has been saved. They are Americans in every sense of the word, except for a piece of paper. Now we need to work to get them that paper.
