Rep. Correa Statement on the Parliamentarian Decision to Reject Immigration in Reconciliation
Washington, D.C. — Today, Congressman Lou Correa (D-CA), a member of the House Judiciary Committee, released a statement following the parliamentarian decision to reject immigration in reconciliation:
Rep Lou Correa said: “I’m shocked by the Senate parliamentarian’s ruling and decision to disregard financial and economic reforms for our country that have proven to strengthen our nation’s long term economic outlook. Our strong GDP growth depends on a robust immigrant workforce. The Senate parliamentarian needs to again be apprised of the facts to make common sense rulings that are good for the American economy and for all Americans. I will continue to fight for an immigration reform to be included in the budget reconciliation. It’s the right thing to do for our nation and our economy."
