Correa Votes to Pass the Affordable Prescriptions for Patients Through Improvements to Patents Litigation Act
Washington, D.C. — Today, Congressman Lou Correa (D-CA) released the following statement after voting to pass the Affordable Prescriptions for Patients Through Improvements to Patents Litigation Act.
Rep. Lou Correa said: “I am proud to vote in favor of passing the bipartisan Affordable Prescriptions for Patients Through Improvements to Patent Litigation Act through the House Judiciary Committee markup. This bill would help every day American by making healthcare more affordable, address increasing medical costs, and encourage competition and innovation.”
Background: H.R. 2884, the Affordable Prescriptions for Patients Through Improvements to Patent Litigation Act, would amend the process for resolving patent infringement claims for biological products known as the “patent dance” by limiting the number of certain patents that a biological product manufacturer can assert in an infringement action.
