Correa Votes to Pass Legislation to Sanction Russian Oil and Energy Imports

Washington, D.C. — Today, Rep. Lou Correa (D-CA) votes to pass H.R. 6968 Suspending Energy Imports From Russia Act, a bill that contains three significant provisions that would further isolate Russia from the global economy. This legislation will also ban imports from Russian oil and energy products coming into the United States.

Rep Correa said, "I am proud to cosponsor and vote for this important legislation. The Suspending Energy Imports From Russia Act is imperative and demonstrates our strength as a country. We remain united and will hold Putin accountable for his unjustified invasion of Ukraine. In Congress, we will continue to work with President Biden to minimize the impacts of Putin's actions on Americans and maintain the stability of the global oil market while diversifying our energy supply.”
