CORREA HAILS HOUSE PASSAGE OF OVER $4 MILLION IN FEDERAL FUNDING FOR LOCAL PROJECTS IN ORANGE COUNTY

Soon to Pass U.S. Senate, Then Be Signed Into Law By President

WASHINGTON Today, Representative Lou Correa (CA-46) announced that over $4 million in federal funding for vital community projects across California’s 46th Congressional District were included in the FY’26 minibus appropriations package that deals with Commerce, Justice, Science; Energy & Water; and Interior funding legislation. It passed the U.S. House of Representatives with bipartisan support, and will now be considered by the U.S. Senate before being signed into law by the President.

Last year, Correa submitted requests for funding for the below projects that will directly benefit California’s 46th District residents that were included in this funding legislation:

  • $1,031,000 for Rancho Santiago Community College District Foundation to accelerate the growth of clean technology startups and help existing businesses transition to more sustainable, efficient operations.

  • $1,031,000 for Santa Ana College for the college’s Criminal Justice Academies, in partnership with the Orange County Sheriff’s Department, to enhance regional training programs and facilities to meet the current and future demand for correctional and peace officers throughout Orange County and beyond.

  • $1,031,000 for the City of Orange to create a Real Time Crime Center with updated technology that would allow real-time intelligence gathering, predictive crime analytics, and enhanced deployment strategies.

  • $1,092,000 for the City of Santa Ana to eliminate PFAS contamination from impacted wells.

“I’m proud to see this federal funding included to support projects that will make a real, lasting difference for Orange County families. These investments will help grow clean-technology startups and support local businesses transitioning to sustainable operations, strengthen workforce training for our next generation of peace and correctional officers, modernize public safety tools through a new Real Time Crime Center, and protect public health by eliminating dangerous PFAS contamination from Santa Ana’s drinking water,” Correa said. “Together, these projects improve safety, create opportunity, and ensure our communities are healthier and more resilient. I look forward to swift passage by the U.S. Senate and to seeing this legislation signed into law by the President.”
