Washington, DC – U.S. Representative Lou Correa (CA-46) released the following statement following his vote in favor of the bipartisan continuing resolution to keep the government funded through December 11, 2026.
“Today I voted to keep the government open, keep seniors fed, keep families housed, and block the Trump Administration’s latest power grab.
“This bipartisan bill is a clear improvement over the House GOP version we voted on last month. Unlike the previous version, this bill does not include a backdoor to fund Border Patrol. It also temporarily blocks the White House Office of Management and Budget’s push to strip federal funding from schools and hospitals based on political loyalty rather than merit.”

This short-term funding bill addresses key issues Republicans failed to consider in the House bill we voted on before the district work period by:

Closing the Border Patrol loophole that would have let the Trump Administration redirect funding without accountability

Protecting seniors and families by keeping housing programs running and providing funding for the Commodity Supplemental Food Program for low-income seniors
