Congressman Correa Statement on President Biden’s First State of the Union Address

Washington, D.C. — Today, Rep. Lou Correa (D-CA) released the following statement after attending President Biden’s first State of The Union:

"President Biden addressed crucial issues that impact our country, including immigration, during his speech. It is critical to understand that now is the moment to strengthen our legal paths to citizenship, as the Biden Administration has released their strategy for fixing our broken immigration system. Comprehensive immigration policies are needed to keep families together, expedite asylum applications for migrants and refugees, and protect our immigrant communities, contributing to our society and economy. We've been waiting for 35 years and can't afford to wait another year. I will continue to work in Congress and with the Biden administration to ensure that we keep America strong."
