Chairman Of TSA Subcommittee Condemns Administrations Misuse of Critical Aviation Security Resources

Congressman Correa Urges President To Leave TSA Out of His Border Plan

Washington, DC - Today, Congressman Lou Correa’s (D-CA-46), Chairman of the House Homeland Security Aviation and Maritime Subcommittee, released the following statement on the Administration sending 294 additional TSA employees to the US- Mexico border:

“The Administration is putting our national aviation security at risk. Following the devastating September 11th attack, we created the Transportation Security Administration to help eliminate security holes, and ensure such an attack could not happen again. Diverting these resources helps no one. Regardless of one’s personal position on the crisis at our border, it will not be solved by decreasing aviation security.”
