Congressman Correa Statement on Supreme Courts Decisions to Overturn Roe V. Wade
Washington, D.C. — Today Congressman Lou Correa (D-CA) released the following statement on the Supreme Court's verdict in the case of Dobbs v. Jackson Women's Health :
"The judgment made by the Supreme Court today revokes the right to choose, which millions of women in the United States have relied on for the past half century, and it denies everyone the freedom to decide for themselves how their own health care should be provided. By preventing women from having access to health care, we are putting their lives in jeopardy. The decision should be left to woman, her doctor, and her god. This is only the beginning to overturn our constitutional rights we cannot allow for SCOTUS to reconsider past rulings, such as LGBTQIA+ rights and access to contraception, that will alter American lives negatively. Our voices and votes count! We just cannot afford to turn the clock backwards, and I will not stop being a voice that advocates for women’s choices.”
