Rep. Lou Correa Announces State & Local Funds from the American Rescue Plan
Orange County Will Receive $616,840,943 In Emergency COVID-19 Funding
Washington, DC — Today, Congressmen Lou Correa (D-CA) proudly announced that Orange County will receive $616 million from the American Rescue Plan. These funds will provide vital resources for Orange County families and communities.
Rep. Lou Correa said, “After more than a year, our local cities have been pushed to their breaking points. These vital funds ensure our local public safety departments can continue to serve our communities and take care of the countless families devastated by this pandemic.
“The American Rescue Plan funding released today will help ensure a strong and equitable recovery from the coronavirus pandemic for all Orange County residents. I will continue working with my colleagues on behalf of the people of central Orange County to ensure everyone gets back on their feet.”
BACKGROUND: The Coronavirus State and Local Fiscal Recovery Funds provide substantial flexibility to meet local needs. In addition to allowing for flexible spending up to the level of their revenue loss, recipients can use funds to:

Support public health expenditures;

Address negative economic impacts caused by the public health emergency;

Aid the communities and populations hardest hit by the crisis;

Provide premium pay for essential workers; and
-
Invest in water, sewer, and broadband infrastructure.
