Rep. Correa Saddened By Trump’s Betrayal of DREAMers

Washington, DC—Congressman Lou Correa released the following statement following President Trump’s demands for a DREAMer deal.

Rep. Correa said, “I am very saddened by the President’s sudden shift in position on helping DREAMers. It is very disturbing that the Trump Administration would use DREAMers as hostages and scuttle any hopes of a clean DREAM Act.

Countless business leaders, including Facebook’s Founder Mark Zuckerberg and Apple CEO Tim Cook, as as well as 90% of Americans and 76% of Republicans believe these hardworking young people should have a pathway to citizenship.

They have jumped through every hoop the United States has put in front of them, have worked hard, studied hard and have followed the law.

Dreamers deserve a real shot at the American Dream. We need a clean DREAM Act.”
