Rep. Correa Joins Colleagues To Introduce “Pay Our Military Act”
Washington, DC—Congressman Lou Correa joined colleagues in introducing the “Pay Our Military Act of 2018.” This legislation provides pay to our servicemen and women, and death gratuities to the families of fallen heroes, during the government shutdown.
Rep. Correa said, “I was shocked to learn that when Congress fails to pass a budget, our soldiers pay the price. Our military puts it all on the line for us. It is completely indefensible that we would ask them to forgo their pay because Congress has not passed a budget in a timely manner. Our soldiers deserve every cent they make and more. This bill will make sure they get it.”
The Pay Our Military Act provides appropriations for pay and support for the Army, Navy, Marines, Air Force, and Coast Guard during any potential future government shutdowns in fiscal year 2018.
