Rep. Correa Fights for Health Care Workers Safety During Covid-19 Pandemic

Joins Colleagues calling for Biden to Urge OSHA for a Permanent Solution to Protect Healthcare Workers

Washington, D.C. — Today, Representatives Lou Correa (CA-46) announced he joined 129 of his House colleagues in sending a letter to President Joe Biden urging the need for the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) to issue an Emergency Temporary Standard that will ensure the safety of frontline high-risk healthcare professionals, create permanent and secure protection standards during the Covid-19 pandemic.

Rep Lou Correa said:  “As the country continues to recover from the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic, our frontline health care workers have not stopped working. All medical workers across our nation are exhausted, experience high-stress levels, and continue to work past their breaking points. It is long overdue for the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) to create a permanent Covid-19 healthcare standard that protects healthcare workers. Our medical professionals deserve a safe working environment, and I will continue to work to ensure they have resources and permanent standards.”
