RANKING MEMBER CORREA STATEMENT ON REMEDY FRAMEWORK IN UNITED STATES V. GOOGLE, LLC
SANTA ANA, Calif. — Today, Representative Lou Correa (D-CA), the top Democrat on the House Judiciary Subcommittee on the Administrative State, Regulatory Reform, and Antitrust, released the following statement urging the Department of Justice (DOJ) to weigh consequences on California and American workers when proposing a remedy in United States v. Google, LLC:
“As the DOJ proposes a remedy framework in the United States v. Google, LLC search antitrust case this week, I strongly urge the DOJ to weigh and incorporate the consequences on California and American workers, consumers, developers, startups, and the American economy. Californians have many priorities, including maintaining our lead in technology, promoting innovation, preserving jobs, and protecting national security,” Correa said. “Any proposed remedy must ensure that workers and consumers are not harmed while incentives to innovate that enable dynamic and disruptive new products and ideas continue to thrive. The court should seriously consider these broader consequences when crafting a remedy.”
