CORREA VOTES AGAINST PUSH TO EXPAND CONCEALED CARRY IN SCHOOLS

WASHINGTON — Today, Representative Lou Correa (D-CA) voted against H.R. 2243, the LEOSA Reform Act of 2025, and released the following statement:

“I support our retired public safety officers being able to conceal carry and their ability to step in during times of crisis to protect public safety,” Correa said. “However, this legislation would allow off-duty and retired law enforcement to carry guns in schools and other sensitive areas. Due to there being no restriction on concealed carry in schools, I voted ‘no.’ Should this legislation be amended in the future to include this restriction, I would support it.”
