CORREA STATEMENT ON CEASEFIRE NEGOTIATIONS BETWEEN ISRAEL AND HAMAS
WASHINGTON, D.C. — Today, Representative Lou Correa (CA-46) released the following statement:
“As the Israel-Hamas war continues, I have spent the past several weeks engaging in candid discussions with individuals and groups most impacted by this conflict—and my heart remains heavy with each conversation,” Correa said. “I continue to call on the Israeli government and Hamas to come back to the table to negotiate another temporary ceasefire to ensure the release of hostages, and facilitate the delivery of essential humanitarian aid to those who need it most.”
“Let me be clear: I remain firmly committed to advocating for peace and prosperity for both the Israeli and Palestinian peoples; one that ensures their mutual security, dignity, and respect,” he added. “I will continue to call for a two-state solution that adheres to those principles. At this moment, a cessation of hostilities by both parties to facilitate further negotiations on hostage release and delivery of aid must resume to reach these immediate goals. Moving forward, the Biden Administration must continue to work with the Gulf nations, as well as key Arab partners in the region, to lay the groundwork for a future of lasting peace and stability.”
