Congressman Correa Demands CDC Support Doctor’s Fighting Coronavirus

Washington, DC - Today, Senior House Homeland Security Committee Democrat and Subcommittee Chairman Congressman Lou Correa (D-CA-46) demanded Secretary Alex Azar and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention improve efforts to share critical health information with health professionals on the frontlines of the CONVID-19 epidemic.

Rep. Correa said, “As the federal agency responsible for coordinating the response to infectious diseases, the CDC is uniquely positioned to disseminate information on coronavirus and help physicians diagnose and treat COVID-19 patients. At the moment, the majority of the CDC’s public guidance is dependent on Chinese research.

“As the coronavirus continues to spread unpredictably in the United States and abroad, it is vital that our public health response to this global outbreak is rooted in facts. I urge the CDC to provide the necessary clinical data on COVID-19 to doctors, who are on the frontline of this epidemic.”
