Rep. Lou Correa Proudly Votes To Pass The Equality Act & Protect LGBTQ+ Communities

Correa Joins His Colleagues In Passing Bipartisan Anti-Discrimination Legislation

Washington, DC — Today, Congressman Lou Correa (D-CA-46) released the following statement after proudly voting to pass H.R. 5 - The Equality Act:

“Today the House voted to pass H.R. 5 - The Equality Act for all Americans. Civil rights matter to us all

“Fighting for civil rights is never easy, and sometimes it becomes controversial, but it is always the right thing to do.

“In California, as a legislator, I took votes to advance and protect all Californian's civil rights. Those votes made California a better place.

“My vote today advances this legislation. I strongly urge my Senate colleagues to do the same, so we can send this bill to President Biden's desk to become law.”
