2024 Water Resources Development Act
The House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee is now accepting Member submissions for the Water Resources Development Act of 2024 (WRDA). This will be the 6th bipartisan WRDA to respond to local water resource needs. The previous 2022 WRDA included key provisions to invest in our ports, harbors and inland waterways, to build more resilient communities, and to ensure that the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (Corps) carries out projects in an economically and environmentally responsible manner. WRDA authorizes studies and projects within the Corps’ Civil Works mission areas, including navigation, flood damage reduction, hurricane and storm damage reduction, shoreline protection, and ecosystem restoration. We are still awaiting instructions from the Committee on qualifications for submissions and will release those requirements as we are noticed of them in the coming days.
Eligible requests include project/study requests (modifying or requesting new authority), policy requests, and environmental infrastructure requests (i.e., water supply and wastewater infrastructure projects).
The deadline to submit to our office is January 3, 2024. All applicants must also demonstrate community support.
