Rep. Correa Launch Bipartisan Congressional Energy Export Caucus

Joins Reps. Arrington, Cuellar, Miller In Promoting American Energy Trade Leadership

Washington, D.C. — Today, Congressman Lou Correa (D-CA) joined Reps. Carol Miller (R-WV), Henry Cuellar (D-TX), and Jodey Arrington (R-TX) to launch the bipartisan Congressional Energy Export Caucus.

American energy production is an important part of our national security and global leadership. By promoting realistic, responsible, sustainable, and cost-effective solutions and legislation, the Congressional Energy Export Caucus can ensure the United States continues to lead the world in energy production and the development of green energy and technology, leading the world to transition to renewable energy.

As an energy exporter, the United States must continue to utilize its abundant natural resources and innovative energy technology to help our allies meet their current energy needs while accelerating the development of technologies that move our world to renewable and sustainable energy. As with many other fields, when it comes to research and development of energy, the United States is second to no one.

Congressman Lou Correa said, "America's National Security depends on our energy independence. Our work in the Energy Export Caucus will help American innovators share their technologies with the world. Better and cleaner energy is just around the corner. A green and sustainable future depends on American leadership and technological development. Together, Congress can support and invest in our green future while ensuring American leadership and energy independence."

"It is crucial that we work to reestablish United States leadership on trade, and specifically energy trade, as we navigate a post-pandemic world," said Congresswoman Miller. "American energy is a significant competitive advantage that we must embrace, and the Congressional Energy Export Caucus will champion the growth of American energy exports with our allies and into the developing world. This work will create new jobs, build up our infrastructure, and solidify our national security. I look forward to working with Congressmen Cuellar, Arrington, and Correa to advance our shared goals."

"The United States is an energy powerhouse, poised to become a key trailblazer in global markets. However, we must create consistent and cohesive policies on energy exports to ensure our country's future prosperity," said Congressman Cuellar. "I was proud to lead the efforts to lift the oil export ban, and I am once again proud to stand alongside my colleagues to create the Energy Export Caucus to bring bipartisan, sustainable, and affordable solutions that will boost economic growth, increase wages and employment, expand trade, and strengthen our national security. I look forward to working with Representatives Miller, Correa, and Arrington on this initiative."

"By unleashing the full potential and power of American enterprise, through free market pro-energy policies, our nation became a net exporter of oil and natural gas last year, creating record jobs for our country," explained Congressman Arrington. "As the world's largest oil and gas production center, West Texas energy producers have to lead the way in fueling our economy and strengthening our national security through energy independence. I am proud to help establish the Congressional Energy Export Caucus, a forum for bipartisan legislative leadership to advance our country's future prosperity and security through sound energy policy."
